Plan to join us for an advanced handbell technique workshop led by guest artists Forté Handbell Quartet from Colorado Springs, and stay after the workshop to attend the concert presented by Forté!

The handbell techniques workshop is targeted towards handbell ringers comfortable playing "Level 3" music and above; reading music is necessary.  The workshop is an opportunity for ringers who would like to increase their skills and musicality. There will be a time for participant questions with members of the Forté quartet towards the end of the workshop.

The James River Ringers are proud to host Forté Handbell Quartet for their concert program “Resonance” in the Richmond area.

Based in Colorado Springs, Forté is an advanced quartet marked by artistry, energy, and dedication to their craft. They have been featured performers and faculty at Handbell Musicians of America events, have presented several successful tours across the country, and released three CDs and a DVD of music videos filmed around the state of Colorado.

Resonance describes a sound that is deep, full, and lingering. In presenting this concert, Forté invites you to slow down, listen, and share in the range of emotions offered by this music. We hope that what you hear will echo in your heart long after the final note fades.

Known for their skillful, energetic performances and diverse repertoire, Forté will captivate audiences with a wide range of musical styles. Resonance features beloved original compositions for handbells, familiar movie themes from How to Train Your Dragon and Titanic, contemporary and traditional Christian music, and baroque and classical favorites. Together, these varied selections create an engaging and accessible concert experience for listeners of all ages.

As our country celebrates its 250th anniversary, the 16 members of the James River Ringers invite you to join us in a program entitled All American. This fun and engaging program will include music written by composers like John Williams, Leonard Bernstein, and John Philips Sousa as well as popular hits like Puttin’ on the Ritz, Sweet Caroline, Rainbow Connection and more. This program will walk us through positive parts of our American Journey and even include a Salute to those who served or currently serve in our Military. 

A free will offering will be received. Be sure to invite a friend to this unique musical experience.
