Christmas Concert 2021
We hope you have enjoyed our Christmas Cards, but we have saved the best for last! Our final presentation is a compilation of everything you have seen so far BUT with some “extra goodies” to make your season bright! We would love to have your support by visiting the donation page of our website and contributing what you can. If you are interested in becoming a member, reach out to us through our contact us page, www.jamesriverringers.com
Bell Boogie
Not technically a “Christmas” piece (although we added sleigh bells and a snippet of Jingle Bells), this is just plain fun and why we do what we do!
Silent Night, Holy Night
One of our favorites arranged by one of our favorite handbell composers, Fred Gramann’s Silent Night, Holy Night is an oldie, but goodie, released in 1993.
Jesus, Oh What a Wonderful Child
Our thanks to David Atkins for introducing Jesus, Oh What a Wonderful Child, a song that has become a gospel favorite of choirs and ringers alike.
Jangle Bells
We all love the sights and sounds of the holiday season, but sometimes the traffic, the shopping, dealing with the kids, coping with end of the year work pressures, and even decorating can be a bit of a headache. Bah Humbug!
Carol of the Bells / God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen
It just wouldn’t be Christmas if we didn’t do some sort of arrangement of Carol of the Bells!
Gloria Hodie
Combining the tunes of On This Earth Shall Ring with the Canadian Christmas hymn, Twas in the Moon of Wintertime (aka Huron Carol), Gloria Hodie evokes an image of a wintry night with something different in the air. With the angelic host announcing the birth of Jesus to the world, you can almost see the shepherds and magi gathering at the stable guided by a brilliant star for all the world to see.
Reverberations
